ABOUT THE BOOK

The Art And Science Of Living On Purpose

The next few pages are the account of my life, which was, and remains characterized by, love, grace, mercy, support, courage, discipline, and gratitude beyond measure. Even as I go about in life, I feel overwhelmed by all I have received and achieved in my lifetime. I am acutely aware of the biblical passage “From those to whom much is given, much is expected” (Luke 12:48).

I was not born an ecologist, leader, founder, transformer, and activist. But I was born with boundless potential and chose to work with what I had. I am an activist for the Gender Equality Struggle as I have had my fair share of personal experiences with being undermined and underestimated. I had to prove myself many times, lost out at times due to politicking and gender bias, and learned the lessons along the way. One of the lessons from this book is that women need to know the career and leadership journey will have a mix of smooth sailing and bottlenecks. Some things will take longer. Some milestones might be harder to achieve. But you get there in the end, and you are grateful for the detours along the way. This is an important realization to make early on. A detour is not a dead end. Just recalculate, re-adjust, and keep going.
