I know that math can seem challenging to some, young and old, but each day we see how essential it is to be capable and comfortable with mathematical principles in order to be successful in school, work, and life. As a young person, I learned that you can acquire a challenging skill through hard work and practice: you don’t have to be a genius or a “savant” at something that uses your mind; you can acquire skills deliberately!  I have assembled all of the tricks, shortcuts, skills, and strategies for doing mental math and for learning math fundamentals into a fun, challenging, and family-friendly board game: BEGENIO™. In this book, I explain these concepts and approaches, and show you how to help your own children become the “math kids” around their school.

Even students who are not naturals at math can learn each of the shortcuts and skills necessary to be successful. Begenio™ is organized as a stimulating game for all levels, so that players can practice these strategies easily. By using these fun mind games and processes, anyone can become really good at mental math. This game is so entertaining that players often don’t realize that they are learning and practicing new skills—and many don’t realize that their minds are so capable.
