Taaka Awori

TAAKA AWORI IS THE CEO and Founder of Busara Africa a Pan-African Leadership Development Firm. She is a Leadership Trainer, Professional Coach, Facilitator, Speaker, and Organisational Development Specialist with over twenty years of experience working with civil society, the private sector, and various Government Agencies in East, West, Southern Africa, Europe, and the U.S. She, therefore, combines an understanding of international best practice on leadership and organisational development with an appreciation of the diverse contexts in which these principles should be applied. Taaka currently works with a wide range of clients such as the Open Society Foundation, Newmont Corp, Care International, MTN, and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre.

Taaka has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Columbia University, New York, New York. She also has a Certificate in Organisational Development from the Organisation Development Centre & the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, the United States, and an Advanced Certificate in Coaching from the International Coaching Academy, Melbourne, Australia.

Taaka is the Chair of the Board of the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) and sits on the Editorial Board of Coaching Perspectives, the flagship global publication of the Association for Coaching.
