Prof. Diana Nambatya Nsubuga
Prof. DIANA NAMBATYA NSUBUGA born in a small suburb of Rubaga in Kampala in a very humble family, Prof. Diana is a graduate of Makerere University with a Bachelor of Science in population studies. She holds a PhD in Public Health and has won several Leadership Awards including the 2017 Women Champion Award, 2016 American Express Ngen Leadership Award, and 2015 Urban Farmer Award. She has also served as a Honorary Associate Professor at Makerere University as part of her community service.
Despite Prof. Diana’s expertise in public health she has a strong passion for urban farming as a way to wealth creation and a great lifestyle. Her innovative way of using small space to practice farming saw her emerge as the best urban farmer. She is the founder of Kwagala Farm and has further improved on her practices and added more enterprises. On a half an acre of land, she grows nearly every vegetable around, keeps at least 1,500 chicken and 3 diary cows under zero-grazing arrangement.
Her meritorious Awards include Best assertive student in the confidence Building and Assertiveness course, Makerere University, 2005. Best Public Speaker, Makerere University, 2004. Most active academic president, Kibuli Secondary School, 2000/2001. Most Innovative student, Gayaza High School, 1999.
