Dr Charity Ntiasagwe and Innocent Ntiasagwe

Dr Charity Ntiasagwe was born in Umuahia, Abia (formerly Imo) State, Nigeria, on July 12, 1964, as the third of seven children to Virginia and Maxwell Okoro. Her mother was a successful small business entrepreneur, and her father was a police officer. Both of her parents, now deceased, managed to sponsor six of their seven children through college despite limited resources.
