In this post, I am going to delve into the importance of writing a book for you to share with the world. What knowledge do you have that you can write down into written word and publish to teach someone something.
We all grow up and live a journey, but why should we not record it and share it. The minute you do that, is the minute you start leaving a legacy for the world.
Now, as far as it is quick to write a book, if you choose it to be, you can’t rush it out without losing some of the key points. Yes, you can write it in ten hours, but not by yourself. You will need a solid support structure to do so. But, if you are writing by yourself, there is no reason to take years.
So, let’s jump into why you should write a book.
1 – You become an expert:
When you write a book, people will immediately consider you an expert. People expect what you are to be saying to be based on expert advice. You clearly have the right knowledge and expertise to be taken seriously. My books, for example, are worth more than my house because people consider what I say as expert, and I can use it as the basis of my knowledge.
2 – It Gives You Credibility:
Credibility is something interesting. Most people have degrees and have an education, but almost no-one takes that knowledge further into a book. Once you do that, you put yourself on a level to compete with other players in your realm.
3 – It Gives You Authority:
ou are surrounded by people who are your peers and your competition. But you have made this your field of expertise by writing a book. This puts you in that place to compete and to be respected for your standing.
4 – Positioning:
That leads on directly to positioning. Once you are in that place where people respect you and look up to you, you can be the person that people call on to assist them. When you are that level of expertise, you position yourself above most people in your field.
5 – Personal Expression:
A book helps you express what is going on in your mind and within your brain, you can transfer thoughts and knowledge through writing. This is what you put out to the world. It will help you understand yourself more and be able to communicate who you are and what you stand for.
6 – Help Others:
At the end of the day, it’s all about giving back. I learnt most of my lessons from books and I want people to learn from me through books. You are giving people your teachings and your knowledge through your book.
7 – Connection:
Writing your book will open up your connections. It is all about networking and knowing the movers and shakers. But it is also about them knowing you.
If you give your book as a business card, people will be excited to meet you and know you. They will know that you are someone to know and share with their connections who you are.
8 – Therapy:
This is your personal experience, and as said above, about expressing yourself. Expressing yourself is therapy. The more you tell your story, the more you learn about yourself.
9 – Tell a Story:
Everyone has a unique story to tell. People buy from you because they can relate to you. They can trust you and they are. My story got me known by people because it was unique and different, but it allowed me to relate to people and got them to trust me.
10 – Never die:
A book will never die, and therefore, nor will your knowledge. You leave a legacy and your life it left imprinted in other people’s lives.
11 – Parenting:
Raising children today is challenging. There is so much in this world to make children drift off their courses. If you aren’t working on something, how can you inspire your children to be better. It will allow your kids to get to know you and will inspire them to do their own thing like what you are doing. What you believe in and stand for should be taught to them.
12 – Learning:
The more you write down and share, the more you learn. When you teach, you learn along the way! You spend time researching and learning to share that knowledge.
13 – Example:
This ties back into parenting. But you can also be an example to other people when you are sharing your story and experiences and allowing them to identify and relate to you!
14 – Run for Office:
In order to be in a position of power, or lead, you need to have all of the above qualities. You need to be an example and the best way of doing this, and proving how much value you have is writing a book. Have you ever seen a president who hasn’t written a book?
15 – Leader:
You are in a position of power, you hold authority. You hold your position and act as an example by giving value back to the world/
16 – Leave a legacy:
This will be your contribution to the world, and it is a powerful contribution. Your words will never die or disappear. You are changing someone’s life in one way, with your words and knowledge and that is a powerful legacy to leave.
17 – Raise Your Standards:
The world is in a very strange place where people no longer have standards. Writing a book puts you in the position that you are responsible for yourself as well as other people. You are adding value and that helps your standards to rise.
18 – Pay Rise:
If you have written a book and established yourself as an expert in your field, you can get that promotion that you are looking for. You now have authority and you have raised your standards.
19 – Improves Communication:
How can your story help change the readers life? What message they get out of your book and your story. That is the point of writing a book, is the fact that it becomes your guide.
20 – Lifestyle:
Leading a comfortable life depends on what you are contributing to the world. If you know that you are making a difference using your words and your knowledge to someone else somewhere across the world, that means that you have put your life and lifestyle in a different league.
